The trap is treating this as a like-for-like renewal. F-SKUs are bought and sized differently. Reassign workspaces to the Fabric capacity in waves, testing refresh and access as we go.
Confirm
Prove everything runs on the new capacity, retire the old one, and hand over the documentation.
When do we have to move off Power BI Premium?
At the end of your current agreement. Microsoft has ended P-SKU sales and renewals. After the subscription ends there is a published grace path: a 30-day grace period on capacity matched to your Premium size, then throttling of new operations from day 31, and loss of access from day 91. The calm version of this project happens before that window, not inside it.
Is Fabric more expensive than Premium?
It depends on sizing and how you buy. Reservation pricing and pay-as-you-go change the sums, and some estates come out cheaper while others don't. That's why the audit sizes the F-SKU against your actual usage before we recommend anything, and you get the cost picture in writing.
Will our reports break during the move?
That's what the waved migration is for: workspaces move in a planned order, and refresh, row-level security and report access are re-tested on the new capacity before the old one is retired. Your users shouldn't notice anything but the billing change.
Do our report viewers need new licences?
On F64 and above, viewers don't need a paid per-user licence, matching how P1 worked. Below F64, they do. Which side of that line you land on is a core part of the sizing recommendation.
