Power BI consultancy for your next business decision
Bring a shared sales, margin and cash view to your next planning meeting. We connect your systems and build Power BI dashboards, with documented measures and checks your team can review.
Turing BI is a UK-based Power BI consultancy for SMEs, delivering remotely to the US, Australia and Benelux. The £2,000–£4,000 ex-VAT Trusted Numbers Review gives you written findings, a prioritised plan and a separate fixed-price build proposal.
Agree what sales, margin and cash mean before comparing them. We trace each measure to its source, confirm the reporting period and document the rules. Your managers can then discuss which products, customers or operating decisions deserve attention using the same definitions.
What you get
- Review sales and margin by product, customer or region using agreed measures
- Plan collections using balances traced to finance records at the agreed cut-off
- Use scheduled reporting with visible refresh status and documented ownership
- Give your team the reports, definitions and training to continue after handover
Source connections and shared measures
We connect the agreed CRM, accounting, spreadsheet or database sources and build the Power BI model. Documented measures let sales and finance explain where each figure comes from.
Power BI dashboard development
Your reporting questions shape the pages, filters and drill-through. Managers get a focused view for their meeting, with the underlying detail available for follow-up.
Reconciliation, access and refresh
We compare report totals with agreed source extracts, test viewer access and check refresh behaviour. You receive the results and any remaining limitations as part of acceptance.
Training and an owned handover
Your team receives the agreed model, reports, measure definitions and operating instructions. We scope training, licences and optional support so responsibilities are clear.
Power BI consulting: review price and build scope
The Trusted Numbers Review is £2,000–£4,000 ex-VAT for a two-week assessment. You keep the written findings, prioritised plan and separate build proposal. Our published typical dashboard build band is £8,000–£14,000 ex-VAT; the agreed sources, measures, users and handover set your fixed quote. The review fee is credited to the build if you proceed within 90 days. Software licences and ongoing support are scoped separately. Prices and invoices are in GBP.

Compare quarters in a browser-built dashboard for a fictional distributor. Inspect the sample inputs and reconciliation below, then use the delivery scope to see what a commissioned report includes.
Check the sample figures: Q4
Inspect the monthly and regional inputs behind the selected quarter. This browser-built demonstration uses fictional aggregates; it illustrates reporting behaviour and validation checks.
- Revenue from the three months
- £3,590k
- Oct £1,090k + Nov £1,180k + Dec £1,320k
- Revenue from the four regions
- £3,590k
- North £1,240k + Midlands £980k + South £840k + Export £530k
- Difference between the two totals
- £0k
The trend shows six months for context. Only the final three months contribute to the selected quarter's revenue; the previous three supply the quarter-on-quarter comparison.
Monthly and regional revenue are alternative breakdowns of the same total. Keep them separate when summing the CSV. Gross margin, weighted open pipeline and on-time shipping are illustrative assumptions; their transaction-level inputs are not modelled. Pipeline is a snapshot at quarter end.
Download the fictional sample data (CSV)Includes all four quarters, the previous quarter's monthly context, units and data-basis labels. The data is fictional and available without an enquiry.
For a commissioned build, we agree your measure definitions, compare report totals with an independent source extract and record access tests and owner sign-off. That gives your team an acceptance record to use when approving the reporting.
From the sample to a report your team can use
This browser-built demonstration uses fictional data; it is not an embedded Power BI report or a client project. It shows how a shared reporting view behaves. A commissioned Power BI build adds your source connections, agreed definitions, access tests and acceptance evidence.
Trace the headline
Select Q4: the North, Midlands, South and Export values total £3.59m. October, November and December total the same amount. A production acceptance check compares those totals with an independently agreed source extract.
Keep the period consistent
Select Q1: revenue becomes £2.46m and the region values change with it. The six-month trend includes the preceding quarter for context; only January to March contributes to the Q1 revenue total.
Agree what each measure means
Revenue covers the selected quarter, while open pipeline is a snapshot at quarter end. For your build, we document the date, currency and calculation rules for each measure so the team can interpret the comparison.
Define the decision
Tell us which reporting decision matters, the systems involved and who needs the result. We agree access, review scope and the fixed fee before work starts.
Review and price the build
The two-week Trusted Numbers Review traces the reporting to its sources and records the findings. You get a prioritised plan and a separate implementation quote to decide what to fund.
Build and check together
We implement the agreed sources, model and dashboards. Your reviewers check totals, definitions and access against the acceptance criteria set in the scope.
Hand over and support
Your team receives documentation, training and the agreed project assets. We confirm operating responsibilities and any ongoing support arrangements in writing.
Internal operating example, not a client case study
We stopped our own launch report from telling a cleaner story than the data
For the three newly launched Turing agency sites, we built a first-party measurement store that keeps Search Console property, page and query grains separate, records live analytics configuration and compares index status with the current sitemaps. The audit found three ways a plausible dashboard headline could have sent us in the wrong direction.
Reconcile the grain
Privacy-filtered query rows appeared to show zero clicks. Property and page-grain totals showed that Turing BI had four clicks and 1,868 impressions through 19 August 2026, so we corrected the headline instead of reporting the neater zero.
Verify configuration before absence
The GA4 extract returned no rows. Comparing the live stream IDs, collector mapping and account access showed that the collector could not read the canonical live properties. We recorded an access and configuration defect, not a claim of zero human traffic.
Use the current denominator
We inspected all 223 URLs in the three live sitemaps and reason-coded every result. Turing BI had 102 of 108 current URLs indexed; the same crawl also exposed an indexed trust page with no unconditional internal link, which we then repaired.
Limits: This is a dated operating example from our own sites, not a client outcome or a Power BI deployment. The figures describe the August 2026 checks. Canonical GA4 access and collector mapping were corrected on 28 August; later performance is assessed in separate windows.
See the reporting review and its checksWhat does a Power BI consultant cost in the UK?
We quote a fixed price for an agreed scope. The Trusted Numbers Review is £2,000–£4,000 ex-VAT and produces written findings, a prioritised plan and a separate build quote. Sources, data quality, measures, security and handover requirements set the build scope. The review fee is credited to the build if you go ahead within 90 days.
Can you fix our existing Power BI?
We assess the reports and model you already use, then scope the changes that support your reporting needs. That can include correcting measures and relationships, consolidating reports or improving refresh and access. The review identifies which parts to retain and what the build should deliver.
What does a Power BI consultancy deliver?
The agreed scope can include source connections, a Power BI semantic model, documented measures, dashboards, access roles, refresh configuration, acceptance evidence, training and handover. We connect those deliverables to the decisions your team needs to make and price the work before it starts.
How long does a Power BI consultancy project take?
Our diagnostic review is two weeks. We agree the build milestones after confirming source access, measures, users, security and any migration work. Your reporting deadline and reviewer availability are included when scoping the timetable.
Will we own the Power BI work after handover?
Yes. The agreed model, reports, documentation and configuration are handed over for your team to own. Ongoing support is optional, not required to keep access to the work delivered.
Can you deliver Power BI consulting outside the UK?
Yes. Turing BI is UK-based and offers remote delivery to the US, Australia and Benelux. Enquiries from other countries are welcome. We agree meeting overlap, delivery language, data-location requirements and support coverage during scoping. Prices and invoices are in GBP.
Which systems can you connect to Power BI?
We scope reporting connections to systems such as SQL Server, Sage, QuickBooks, CRM platforms and spreadsheet exports. Available APIs, connector access, history and refresh requirements determine the implementation. The source list and any additional software costs are agreed before the build.
